My Career Ambitions in Animation

When I think about my future career, my greatest ambition is not only to find a stable job, but also to build a creative path that truly belongs to me. My ideal future is to become a university teacher in animation and, at the same time, use the resources and academic environment of the university to establish my own animation studio. This goal may sound ambitious, but it reflects both my love for animation and my concerns about the future of the industry.

I still have a strong passion for animation. I enjoy the process of creating characters, designing movement, building atmosphere, and using visual storytelling to express emotions and ideas. However, with the rapid development of artificial intelligence, I find it difficult to feel fully secure about working for other studios for a long period of time. AI may not completely replace human creativity, but it is already changing production methods and reducing the need for certain types of labor. Because of this, I do not want my future to depend only on being employed by someone else’s studio.

Becoming a university teacher would give me a more stable foundation. It would also allow me to continue learning, researching, and teaching animation while staying close to young creators and new ideas. At the same time, running my own studio would give me more creative freedom. I want to develop original projects instead of only completing assigned tasks. I hope that one day I can create an animated feature film that is released in cinemas. For me, having my own film shown on the big screen would be one of the most meaningful achievements in my career.

My biggest ambition is to challenge the problem of similar themes in Chinese animated films. In recent years, many successful Chinese animated films have focused on mythology, fantasy, or traditional legends. These themes are valuable, but I believe Chinese animation can also explore more diverse subjects, styles, and emotions. In the future, I hope my work can contribute to this change. I want to create animation that feels personal, original, and different, while still speaking to audiences in a powerful way.
